Peter Lawrence Meade was born on September 25th, 1941, in Seattle, Washington. He was the second of eight children born to Richard & Marguerite Meade. Pete was raised in Catholicism and never wavered in his faith, attending weekly Mass throughout his life.

After graduating from Marquette University in 1964, Pete joined the United States Marine Corps and completed his basic training as an officer candidate in Quantico, Virginia.

Pete served a year in Vietnam, acting for nearly eleven months as executive officer for Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Marines: the “Walking Dead”. His personal decorations include a Purple Heart, and Two Bronze Stars with Combat “V”, first heroic, second meritorious. He was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in December 1969. Pete embraced the brotherhood of the “Corps” throughout his life and applied their motto “Semper Fi” to his unwavering loyalty to God, country, family and friends.

Pete and Charlene (née Boursier) met while working at Safeguard Business Systems in the mid-1970s. They were married in May 1980 and settled in Irvine. Pete became a father to son Nicholas Peter Meade in May 1982, followed by daughter Emily Rose Meade in March 1985.

In addition to his family, Pete loved the sea. He captained three sailboats in his lifetime, earned countless local and regional trophies, and successfully achieved his ultimate dream to race in the 2005 Transpac Yacht Race from Los Angeles to Honolulu.

On September 19, 2018, six days shy of his 77th birthday, Pete joined the Lord, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Irvine.
